Cazarin Family missions -- Mexico to France via Spain
The Cazarin family are here in the States for the holidays and came to visit us at NBF on Sunday, January 4. They shared their recent experiences and of God's protection of them and their ministry. You can hear that message by going to the Sunday Message Archive page. They also sent along some video clips that highlight the work in Spain. Click on the "Download Video" link above to see several Windows Media clips put together by Kasia and Isaiah.

Greetings to you all!
We pray this finds you well and blessed. It has been quite a long time since we have heard from you all. Please drop us a line sometime, we would love to hear from you and hear how things are going there in Texas!
This month we are celebrating 3 years since we arrived in Spain! God is good and these have been productive years in which we have seen much fruit and growth in the church as well as our personal lives. We are happy to be here serving the Lord for such a time as this! In the 3 years that we have been here we have not done much traveling within Spain except for frequent trips to Madrid to see about our residency papers but other than that we have focused mostly on staying put and helping build up the local church.
In September the church celebrated it's 7th anniversary and the church was packed out we had about 100 people, which for Spain is a wonderful growth! Also in September we decided to take a 6 day rest and do some traveling here in the South of Spain and visit some strategic cities. So the 5 of us loaded into our little green car and hit the road. Spain is a land of much Old History, so it was very fascinating as we traveled to see many old watch towers and castles abandoned and empty along the roads and on the hills. On one such road we happened to drive right by an old castle so we stopped and it was abandoned and empty and we were able to walk right in and climb up to the watch tower and see the land far and wide from the watch tower, whence you could also see distant towers and see how they could signal each other from the watch towers. The Lord has been speaking to us spiritually about being on the watch towers so I really feel that what was happening in the Natural was a reflection of what God is doing in the Spirit of wanting to restore the Watch of the Lord.
Another interesting part of the trip was visiting the region of Cádiz. Cádiz is the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the Iberian Peninsula and possibly of all southwestern Europe. This place also known as Tarsis in the Bible was the place Jonah tried to flee to. Also this is the area of Spain where the Apostle Paul would have arrived to when he visited Spain. So it has been very interesting to go to a place that goes so far back in history.
Another place we drove is Huelva which is the city from hence Christopher Columbus sailed his boats to the Americas and we were able to see and walk on board replicas of his boats. On our way home we stopped by Gibraltar for 2 hours and we could clearly see the mountains of Africa as it is only 7 kilometers across the straight. These places are all within a couple hours driving distance from our house! So after being here for 3 years it was great to finally visit some of these places.
We really believe that it is the Lord's time for Spain and there is a great expectancy in us that God is working and something great is about to happen.
We just received the visit of a group of 10 from Mexico and the USA and it was a tremendous blessing and encouragement to us. One of the Pastors that came on the team Bro. Miguel Flores is Vicente's spiritual Father who lead him to Christ and taught him in his first years as a Christian. So it was special for us to have him stay with us in our home and be able to listen to his many, many stories from all of his years in the ministry.
One of the days the group was here we divided into 3 teams and went out into the city and prayer walked. Praying over the schools, praying over the sports arenas, recreation areas, areas of prostitution, areas where drugs are sold and consumed. We know that much was done in the Spirit during these times of prayer and we are expecting to reap a harvest resulting from these prayers.
We are praying for miracles. Actually we have already seen some miracles of healing. In August and September as we asked you to pray for Ainoah the little girl in church who had encephalitis and meningitis and was in the Hospital for 2 weeks. The Lord healed her and all the test results came back clean and the Dr. could not explain her getting better. God is a God of Miracles!
One more miracle for us is the fact that we have been here for 3 years. Financially living in Spain is very expensive and we ourselves do not even know how we pay the rent, lights, water, and eat and yet also feed others. The numbers of what we receive do not add up with what our monthly expenses are but somehow, someway here we are! God is Faithful!

Greetings from Spain!
Well our hot summer weather is arriving and with it hot sand windstorms that blow in from Africa! It's been getting up close to 100F and with no A/C in our house or even ceiling fans our only rest from the heat is when we go to church and there is air conditioning in part of the church. It's a Good thing that we normally spend a lot of time at church every week!
Last night I slept on the tile floor of our living room by the balcony with the door opened as it was too hot to sleep in bed. As I lay there and the hot sandy wind blew over me I wondered if the Lord is getting me ready to go into the deserts of Africa and sleep in the ground. Never know what all the Lord has planned! At this point in my life I would not be too surprised at anything the Lord asked me to do!
This summer finds us busier than usual as the church has been growing and with the growth we have more and more responsibilities. We just finished up Vacation Bible School for kids ages 3-12 and had a total attendance of 22 kids! We are very excited for what God is doing, as new children are coming to church and we had some kids get Saved during VBS! We put together a program themed "God Has a Plan For Me", it had a Missionary Focus. Vicente along with a few others built an Airplane out of Cardboard in the Sanctuary, every day as the kids arrived they were given a passport and boarding pass to the Airplane which they boarded with the assistance of Stewardesses and we had a Pilot, also an area to leave off baggage. The kids would board the plane with sound effects for takeoff and a screen with the picture of a Airplane's Panel Board. When the kids arrived to their destination they would disembark the plane and have to go through and Immigration Check point they then proceeded into a room which we had turned into "Burkina Faso". Isaiah designed and painted with helpers a mural on 2 walls to represent Burkina Faso. Vicente played the part of an Eccentric Scientist who had gone to Burkina Faso on a mission to develop purified drinking water for the people. He had an assistant that worked with him and they did scientific experiments for the kids. In every part of the VBS we had teaching lessons from the word of God. Lots of songs, verses, lots of fun and laughter for the kids. All in all everything went really well and all the kids loved it and didn't want it to end, neither did the parents! It was lots of work and several weeks of preparation time but we are very happy for the lives of the children that were changed and transformed during this time.
The youth group also continues to grow and we are rejoicing in the Lord for all he is doing in the lives of the young people. We have chosen as our teaching theme for this summer "Purity". So far we have had 3 Saturdays of teaching on this theme, and God is already at work in the lives of many of the youth. Most weekends finds our house full of young people roaming around eatting, we are happy that they feel at home and that we are able to be a like a 2nd. family to many of them. Some of the youth even call us and ask can we bring our friends over? So of course we say "SURE"! I have thought about hanging out a sign that says: "Grand Central Station ~ Come In ~Everyone Is Welcome"!
We even have a "Grandbaby" that comes to visit us every week. A Young woman Elena that moved here to Spain last year from Oaxaca and married a Spaniard had her baby in March and because she does not have any family here she has adopted us as her family so she says I am the Grandma, Vicente is the Grandpa, and our kids are the Aunts and Uncle. We are so excited because 2 weeks ago Vicente had the opportunity of leading her husband Sergio to the Lord! He is a Spaniard and when he accepted Christ in his heart he cried and cried just so touched by the Lord it was such a joyful moment for us all. Every week Elena and Baby Sergio come to "grandma's house" for lunch once or twice a week. Sergio does not always come as he has to work but he does come as often as he is able. This week Vicente & I started to disciple Sergio in his new life in Christ and he is so full of questions! We are thanking the Lord for saving him!
A prostitute got saved 2 weeks ago and she is beginning a new life in Christ and we are rejoicing for her salvation as well! There is another woman who is involved in a very messed up life and needs Salvation and I do not wish to mention the details or her name but please just pray for Salvation for the "Hairdresser". One of the men saved a few months ago had a very bad past and so there are many who are coming to Christ and needing Inner Healing. The week before VBS we had special guest speakers that came from New Zealand and Ministered for a whole week on Inner healing! It was awesome and we saw people freed from demons, and tormenting spirits. Many were set free and healed! What an awesome God we serve!
The Pastors are gone right now for a few weeks of vacaction and traveling throughout Europe so once again we are pastoring the church in their absence. This Sunday Evening Vicente will begin teaching church membership classes for all the new people that have come into the church in recent months. I, Merry will be teaching a Discipleship course to a selected group of church members. The Purpose is to train others that will be able to then help us disciple the new believers. This course will last 3 months and I will be teaching the first month then Vicente, Pastor John & Patti will also teach some of the classes. As the church is growing quickly we need to equip and train others that can help disciple the new believers.
Well as you can see there are never and dull or boring moments in our lives! We are very happy to be here serving the Lord "For Such A Time As This"! It is truly a great Joy and a Blessing to be serving the Lord. Thank you for your prayers and support, for partnering with us to sow the Gospel to the Nations. We pray the Lord bless and Prosper you!

Greetings from sunny Spain!
Summer weather is now in full swing although this is not yet the hottest month, the hottest month is August. But yesterday our temperature was already 92F which feels quite Hot when you don't have either air conditioning or even a ceiling fan! Sometimes it is hotter in our apartment than it is outside! So we do our best to stay cool by drinking lots of water and eating ice pops!
The past month of May and part of June we Pastored the church while John & Patti went to the USA for 6 weeks. During that time 2 men from Hungary came to church for the first time and the very first service Alberto received Christ in his heart as his Savior. By the 3rd Sunday Alberto had brought Annie and she also received Christ in her heart as her Savior. This couple has been so hungry for the things of God and even though they only speak a limited amount of Spanish they have been Faithfully attending church and are growing by leaps and bounds. This past Sunday they brought their neighbor lady who is from England. I translated the service for her and she was very touched and really liked the service and said she will be returning! Also a new Gypsy family that moved from another city to our city have began to come to church. So the church is growing more international all the time! It is awesome to see how we are able to reach out to so many nations through the church. There are at least 11 nations represented in the church at this time. In the summer we often have more people from more countries that visit the church as they come to our city as tourists to go to the beach and sometimes come to church. The good news is the church is also growing in Spanish people! Up until now the church has had very few Spanish people, but 3 Sundays ago when we had a time of prayer for the Spanish members of the church there was a nice amount of women and men who came forward! Praise the Lord for this!
This past Saturday we celebrated Baptisms down at the beach and 7 people were baptized! Three adults, two youth and two children. We took 100 water bottles down to the beach to hand out that had a church label on them and an attached track. As we stood by the waters edge for the baptism people that had been sunning on the beach came closer to see what was going on as we sang. Many of the onlookers took pictures and clapped along with us! We handed out the water bottles and pray that there will be much fruit from those who received a track. Open street evangelism is not allowed here so we have to be careful in the way we do evangelism and our approach. But we are believing for God to move in the hearts of those that received a track that day.
This coming week a couple from New Zealand will be ministering in the church for the whole week with special services. Much of the teaching will be directed toward inner healing and healing from sexual wounds. This is a major area of need here in Spain as there is a lot of abuse. The women of the church continue going through the Beth Moore study on Breaking Free and God is doing a deep work through this study in the life of many women. The weekly women's group has grown with more women attending now.
The youth group has also seen some new growth. Beginning next week we will be teaching a theme on "PURITY" that will last throughout the months of July and August. This summer once again we have several outings scheduled with the youth. And in August we will be going once again as a church to the annual Camp Meeting up in Ciudad Real about 6 hours north of us. Many of these youth are just starved for attention and for having a normal family life. Most weeks we have youth hanging out at our house eating, sleeping, watching a movie, playing games. One of the girls mentioned to Wendy "Your house is always so peaceful" and this girl when she comes over finds it so peaceful that she usually ends up taking a nap at our house! The truth is so many of these kids lack parental attention, mom's that cook, someone to love and care for them. Some of them even call and ask if they can bring their friends over to our house rather than taking their friends to their own house. So we basically we are parenting these kids and trying to teach them, instill into them good values and train them up in the ways of the Lord. Last week Vicente & I were gone to a conference for 2 days down by Gibraltar and while we were gone Wendy, Kasia, & Isaiah hosted several of the kids including a new girl that has started to come and she is Muslim please pray for her Salvation.
In 2 ½ weeks we will be holding the first ever VBS July 13-17th. Please pray for this event as we pray that many children will come and their lives will be transformed. I ordered the VBS material from the USA and it still has not arrived so please pray we will get it soon so we can have everything prepared in a timely manner.
Last but not least, we finally have our residency renewed until August 2010! Praise the Lord!!!
Thank you to all of you who prayed for our many trips we made to Madrid to get all our residency's renewed. We are happy to finally be finished with that process and be able to rest in the fact that we are residing legally in the country for another year.
We are very happy to be here in Spain, and we want to continue on here for however much time the Lord wants us to be here.
It is not our custom to mention our needs, we prefer to pray and await to see God's answer. However at this time I feel I need to mention a situation in which we definitely need a breakthrough, and that is in the area of Finances. Our finances have been very low this year, many people are giving less or not at all and therefore we have been struggling to be able to cover just our most basic needs such as rent and food. The reality is that if we are to be able to continue living here in Spain we need more finances to to come in. God has not indicated to us in any way that we are to leave, we do not have a desire to be anywhere else, our only desire is to serve the Lord, and to be his Faithful Servants. So we would ask you to please join with us in prayer that we will see a breakthrough in our finances.
Thank you! We appreciate your standing with us.
We pray the Lord bless and prosper you.
For the Harvest,
The Cazarin Family

Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray this finds you all well and blessed. As I am sure many of you have already been following on the news there are many happenings around the world by which God is speaking to all of humanity, but I believe even more specifically to the Church. God is calling the church to awake and arise in this hour! There have been many happenings here as of late in the church, divine appointments, things that are out of the ordinary. We have been speaking to the people and saying " We as a Church need to be ready, the world is in crisis, but God is not in Crisis!" This should be the Church's finest hour!
This past week a lady was walking on front of the church and met a sister from the church. This woman asked her if she knew the days and times of services. This sister in the Lord said yes, she could tell her as she was on her way to the church with another sister to pray. This was on a time when normally no one is at church so we know God orchestrated for these women to be there. You see this woman who's name is Carmen was on her way home to kill herself. She had just lost her beloved daughter to cancer, and 2 days after her daughter died her husband also distraught by the daughter's death walked into the room with a gun and shot himself in the head as she and her son watched. This woman was severely depressed and not knowing what to do she started walking around town, she saw a fish sticker on the back of a car and knew it was a Christian symbol so she started following that car on foot to try and find out if the owner of the car could tell her where there was a church. For 3 days she would see the car off and on and try to follow it until one day she found the church by following the car! Is that a God encounter or what!? The 2 sisters in the church prayed for her and she left with a lighter load! Please keep Carmen in your prayers that God will totally heal her of the trauma she has gone through and that she will be able to walk forward in victory.
Another testimony is that of a little girl that was 4 years old when we moved to Spain, she is 7 now.On occasion she would come to church with her Grandmother although her parents are not saved. God began to move in the life of this little girl in such a way that she began constantly talk about Jesus and would tell her parents all these things about God. The interesting part is she was not coming very often but obviously God was speaking to her. She began to ask her parents if they were married and they would always try and evade her questions. On one occasion she told her Mom " if you and Dad are not married you should not be living in the same house together and kissing because that is sin!" So..the mother would repeat these things to the Grandmother and say "why are you telling her these things?" But neither the Grandmother or us was telling her these things! The little girl began to tell her friends at school, "Ask your parents if they are married, because if they are not they need to get married". Here in Spain many couples live together, have children and never get married. Well to make a long story short the Parents who in the beginning were so full of anger concerning everything that had to do with God or Church are now going to get married in August! And they do not want the wedding to be in the Catholic church but want the Pastor to marry them! The father is now reading the Bible on a regular basis. They have still not made their decision for Christ but their hearts are being softened and we are praying and believing that soon they will come to Christ. Please pray for their Salvation.
The Church here is growing Spiritually. Praise the Lord! This past week we had a Discipleship Training Seminar imparted to the church by Ed & Maxine Gross the Director of Vanguard Global Network. We had an excellent turnout of men and women, and received wonderful teaching on being a disciple and learning how to disciple others. It was a very timely word for the church and many are already putting into practice the principles we learned for discipleship. Every Friday the women of the church have been studying a Beth Moore book on Breaking Free and it has been such a blessing to the women. So many have commented how much this study has helped them and we are seeing the change and growth in their lives! The Men on Saturdays are studying "Authentic Masculinity" by Robert M. Lewis this is an excellent series with DVD's, and sheets they fill out! The men likewise are growing and God is blessing their times as they study the word and pray together.
We have been busy, busy as the church grows so do the responsibilities. These past several weeks have found us extra busy besides all the normal usual stuff. I got to cook the passover meal this year for all those who attended the service at church. I made leg of Lamb, meatballs, potatoes and a salad. Praise the Lord all turned out well and we had a wonderful time of fellowship.
The children had the opportunity to participate in the Easter play for church. The play was "It's Friday but Sunday is Coming". Vicente also participated by playing the drums for the musical part. It went really well and was a blessing to all who attended.
It's been like Grand Central Station around here lately. We've had lots of company over for meals and fellowship, some drop by for prayer. We've had both people we've invited to come but also lots of surprise drop in guests. One week we had company for meals 5 out of 7 days! We are always happy to share our home and food with others. Our lives, our home, our time, it all belongs to the Lord and it is a joy and a blessing to us to serve the Lord.
One last testimony we want to share with you. In 2005 when we first came to Spain and also went to Sweden the Lord spoke to us concerning Isaiah 54:2-3 "Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited. The Lord put it on Vicente's heart to make some wooden stakes and to write Scripture on them. As we traveled and the Lord would lead we'd find specific places, would stake the ground and pray over it and claim it for the Lord. Just as the Pioneers would do when they would stake a claim to a piece of land. Well in Sweden we went with some Pastor friends and drove a stake into some ground and prayed over a specific stretch of land claiming it for the Lord. Now the church has bought this huge piece of land in the area where we prayed and they are in the planning stage of building a large new church. This new church will have in it's basement a bowling alley as the town they live in has nothing like that for the youth, and the purpose is to make it open for use for all the city. They are also planning on building a café into a section of the new building! Praise the Lord! This is the same church that the Lord had given me a word concerning their starting a Christian TV station "Canal 10" which they now have up and running and being transmitted throughout the country and also viewable via the internet! We were so excited when we heard how God is answering prayer! That encourages us to continue to believe for the other places where we staked the ground and to believe that they will also be for the Lord! Now the church in Sweden needs the funds for building and so that is what we are praying for now.
Thank you for being a part of our lives and ministry! You are part of the team and we cannot be here and do what we do with out you! Thank you for partnering with us as to take the Gospel to the Nations!
Loving God, Loving People,
The Cazarin Family

Dear Friends and Family,
We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray that you are well, blessed, and prospering in all things. The last 2½ months have found us traveling. After having completed our first 2 year commitment to the church in Spain, we are ready and willing to continue on in Spain for whatever time the Lord allows us to be there. The Lord has given us a real love for the people of Spain and we are very happy to be serving in the church in Arroyo de la Miel along with Pastors John & Patti Chesney. During the month of November and December we had to make numerous trips to Madrid which is approximately 7 hours north of us to renew our residency papers for 2 more years.
In December we were able to help out with the church Christmas program before flying back to Mexico and traveling up to the USA to visit family and be able to minister in various places. At this time we are in Grand Prairie Texas and will be flying back to Spain next week.
Our time in the USA and Mexico has been very busy and has gone by quickly. As many of you know already my Mom Merry Johnson took a fall in December and broke her arm in 9 places and shattered her shoulder. We are very glad we were on this side of the world and able to be close to help take care of her during this time of recovery. It would have been very hard to be so far away and not be able to help, so we are thankful to the Lord for allowing us to be close by to help. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for her!
In January we were able to travel to Oaxaca, Orizaba, and Minatitlan to minister. This was a different trip for us as for the most part we traveled by bus. We are grateful to Carol & Francisco Marin from the Children's Home in Oaxaca and to Paul & Elaine Swift for hosting us and loaning us their vehicles while we were in Oaxaca City. It was a good time of ministering in 4 different churches, seeing friends and family. The trip went by very quickly as each city where we went we were scheduled to minister. There were other places we had hoped to travel to and friends in other cities we desired to see but the time was not sufficient to travel more, but we are happy for those things which were accomplished in the 3 weeks we were there.
One of the highlights of our trip was being in Orizaba where we lived and pioneered a church back in 1992 -1997. We were able to visit with many friends and Pastors as we attended an annual Pastor's conference while there. One of the things that blessed us so much was many different Pastors, and members coming to us and sharing how our teaching back in those days has continued to bear fruit in their lives to this day. Praise the Lord he is so faithful, and truly His word does not return void but it accomplishes that which he pleases, and shall prosper in the thing for which it was sent. Isaiah 55:11. Sometimes we do not see the immediate fruit, but we must not faint but continue to sow the Word knowing that in due season we shall reap if we faint not. It is always good to see lives we have invested the Word in bearing fruit years later!
In Minatitlan which is Vicente's home town we ministered for 3 days in a church where the Pastors are both former graduates from the Bible School where my parents both taught. It was great to see the work of the Lord in that place and see the fruit that continues to come forth from the years of Mom & Dad's ministry and investment into their students lives. The Pastors Jorge and Candy constantly shared with us stories and lessons learned from their years as students and told us how to this day they are putting into practice many things that Mom & Dad taught them. It was a privilege for us to be with them and minister. Pastor Jorge asked us to hold the whole services for the 3 days with the theme "Having a Missionary Heart". So we ministered both the Worship and the Word, as a team. Kasia, Wendy & Merry leading worship with guitars, Vicente playing the drums, and Isaiah doing the Power Point for the songs. On Friday and Saturday we had special services with the children and youth, and Sunday both services were for the whole church. This is a church with a great Missionary heart and we were very blessed to be with them.
In Oaxaca it was great to "be back home". We were able to minister twice in a new mission church that has been started up on the mountainside in a very dangerous area of the city. It was just a great blessing to see the growth and all the new souls coming to Christ and see what God is doing in an area of Oaxaca where there is high crime, violence, and much drug abuse. When Vicente gave the altar call to receive Christ there were at least 7 or 8 people per service that raised their hands to receive Christ.
I remember when I was a child how hard people's hearts were toward the Gospel in Oaxaca and what a hard place of labor it was for missionaries. Many even gave their lives for the Gospel. Now I can go back and see the fruit and result of all of those years of sowing the Gospel and see how there are many churches and how much the Gospel has gone forth. As we prepare to retu rn once again to Spain where the land is hard, and people's hearts are hard and are less receptive toward the Gospel, it is our hearts desire that we will see souls being saved at every service that we will see revival come to Spain. I know that we must persevere for in due season there will be a Harvest. We are believing for a time of revival to come to Spain!
Upon returning to Dallas it has been a great joy and privilege for us to go back to Christ for the Nations and be able to teach at ALPS (Advanced Leadership and Pastoral School) from whence we graduated in 2000. As former students ourselves that have been there in the classroom and gone out to the mission field we were able to go back and teach and motivate the students that are from many different countries, sharing with them about the need to GO, and how God is always faithful.
Truly we can testify God is good all the time, God is Faithful! We want to thank you for your Faithfulness to us through your prayers and support. We are able to Go, and Minister the Gospel to the Nations because of your partnering with us. Thank You! We pray the Lord Bless and prosper you!
January 4, 2009
Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year 2009 to each and every one of you! We pray this finds you all well and blessed. I am sorry I have not written sooner we have been so busy the last month has just flown by for us in a rush of many activities. At the beginning of December we had to make repeated trips to Madrid which is a 7 hour drive north from where we live to see about getting our residency papers renewed. Thank God we were able to complete all the kids paper work and they now will have new residency cards valid until 2011. Vicente & I are still awaiting our appointments in March but expect that all will go well.
December is always a great month in Spain to share the Gospel because of Christmas people seem to be more open. So every year the church puts on an annual Christmas production with singing and a play which is held 2 nights in a row, and it is with the purpose of inviting new people to come to church. This year the play was just excellent! Vicente along with several men in the church built and awesome manger scene complete with hay and an Inn and it was just beautiful. The children helped decorate the church. Kasia & isaiah have continued to do all the churhes power point and announcements. Wendy has continued to be a part of the worship team. The choir this year was composed of people from 8 different Nations they all sang beautifully and many lives were touched. I Merry, was in charge of setting up food tables for the guests to be able to eat after the Christmas program. As people came in to eat I was able to talk with many of the new comers and so many people were touched by the Lord during the play that they just cried for joy. One woman came and she is a Russian immigrant and could hardly speak any Spanish but the Spirit of the Lord was present and ministers beyond language and she cried and received Christ. Another woman an elderly Spanish woman who came for the first time told me with tears in her eyes how touched she was at the simple message of the Gospel given forth. Praise the Lord! God is so good and so Faithful! There were 5 hands raised for Salvation 2 Sundays ago and we are rejoicing in the Lord for his Salvation!
Another thing that kept us busy in December was getting all the Sunday School teachers trained and ready to take over for the 2 months we will be gone from Spain. For the last 2 years Wendy & Merry started and have been in full charge of the children's Sunday School Ministry. We are happy to report that we now have other teachers and helpers trained to carry on with this ministry. So we were able to leave with full confidence that the ministry will be carried on in our absence.
We are all fine and at this time have flown from Spain to Mexico to the USA and are in Grand Prairie ,Tx. at my Mom's house. Three plane rides, one bus ride and a car ride and we finally made it after 47 hours of travel! Before we got to Dallas my Mom Merry Johnson had a fall and broke her arm in about 9 pieces and also her shoulder is shattered. The Drs. have said it will be very hard to do surgery as her bones are so shattered. It has been 2 weeks now since she fell and she just saw the Dr. and he said their is no improvement so is sending her to a specialist to see what can be done. She has an appointment for on Tuesday. So we basically made it to Texas in Time to take a turn at caring for Mom. We are glad we can be here to help. It would have been so hard to be far away in Spain with my Mom needing care. So we are glad to be here and be a blessing while we are here. We would really appreciate your prayers for Mom that God will touch her body and give her a miraculous recovery and healing.
In 2 weeks we will head to Oaxaca where we will be ministering in the church there and also, we will be going to Veracruz state to see Vicente's family whom we have not seen for 2½ since before we moved to Spain. So we will be doing a bit of traveling before we head back to Spain and we covet your prayers for us during this time as we minister in various places in Mexico and the USA.
Thank you for standing with us in your prayers and support, thus enabling us to take the Gospel to the Nations. There are several plans ahead for this year of 2009 to continue ministering in Spain, but also begin to branch out into some surrounding nations as well. We will be sharing more on this in another letter as the Lord opens doors and shows the way He has for us. We thank God for you! You are a blessing to our lives and we are so glad to call you our friends and also family in the Lord. Much Love from our family to you.

Dear Family,
Greetings from Spain! We pray this finds you all well and blessed. We are starting to have some cooler weather here as we have had some stormy weather with rain move through the Coast this week, and we have been enjoying it after our very hot summer we had this year. On October 8th Vicente & I celebrated our 20th anniversary and we are thanking the Lord for these years He has given us together. Being able to Serve the Lord as a family has been our greatest joy. It is such a joy and a blessing to us as parents that our children are serving the Lord and ministering right along with us. I am including some photos from 2 Sundays ago in which the youth lead the whole Sunday service and did an excellent job, it was very encouraging to many to see the kids excited about the things of the Lord and ministering on a deep level both in the Worship and also in the Word.
This past Sunday we had full Sunday School classes with the children and it is such a joy to see these little ones coming to church as many of them come alone with out their parents, but they are learning about the things of the Lord and through the children their parents lives are also being touched. One boy age 10 started coming to church with his Mom and in the beginning his attitude was not too good. He very obviously did not want to come to church but was made to come with his Mom. He has been in Wendy's class for the past year and through much love, teaching, prayers, patience, he is a totally change boy! He loves to come to church and is so friendly and talks up a storm, and he began to pray for his unsaved Dad. This boy would go home and constantly share the Bible truths he was learning at church with his dad, and now his Dad is in regular attendance in church! The boy's Mother was sharing with me that their whole home life situation has improved so much and her husband is now a changed man and the whole family is now very happy! Praise the Lord that is what the Gospel is about lives being changed. Another set of children that come to church come from an abusive home life and a Sister from church picks them up every Sunday and brings the kids to church although the parents don't attend. One of the girls age 7 was severely raped at the beginning of this year by a family member that is now in prison. This little girl was very hurt and fearful. This Sunday as she was standing in church with such a big smile on her face, Praising the Lord and raising her hands I looked at her and all the fear, and sadness we had witnessed months back was gone. I just Praised the Lord for only He could do such a work and heal her body, soul and spirit and make he whole again. She was in my class and now she is in Wendy's class and is doing so well, we Praise the Lord for these little ones that He is bringing into the church. They are a treasure, and a blessing from the Lord!
The next two weeks Pastor John & Patti will be gone to some conferences and a wedding in some other countries here in Europe so Vicente & I will be caring for the church while they are gone. All I can say is it is a joy to serve Jesus!
Well I need to get this sent as I have much to do. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We love and appreciate you and thank God for your lives. Thank you for your prayers for us. Also for your continued prayers for Christian, his family still has not heard back from the kidnappers. We just keep on pressing on with our prayers believing for Victory.
PRAYER REQUESTS
1. For our Residency Visa Renewal For favor that we will be able to get our visas soon.

Dear Friends and Family,
Grace and peace to you. We pray that this finds you all well, blessed, and resting in the Lord. As we watch the daily news from around the world unfold, and see so many crisis situations and uncertainties in this world, we rejoice that our feet are planted on the Rock and that our hope and trust is not in man but in the Lord God Almighty! Truly there is no one like our God, and there is nothing too hard or too difficult for the Lord so each day we run to our God and find our refuge and strength in Him.
As for us we are all fine. We just got home from youth group, and we had a really great time in the Lord. When we came to Spain one of the areas that Pastors John and Patti asked us to start was the youth group. There are only 8 youth at the moment but we are pleased to see the growth in their life. Tomorrow the Youth will be leading the whole church service. We are very excited for this as most of the kids are pretty young and it is just awesome to see the youth growing in the Lord and beginning to step out and minister in the church. Wendy 18, will be leading the worship along with Kasia 16, who will be playing the guitar. Another young man Jose Manuel 15, will be playing the bass, Vicente will help out with the drums and another brother with the keyboard. Two of the girls Betsara 12 and Susana 13, will be back up singing. For the sermon Isaiah, Wendy, and another young man Jose Manuel will be preaching. The Sermon theme is: " It Is Time". Jose Manuel, will be sharing "It is time to Evangelize", Wendy, will be sharing "It is time to Live", & Isaiah 13, will be sharing "It is time to Decide". It is so wonderful to see this new generation rising up with fire and passion for the Lord. I will take some pictures to send to you in the next e-mail.
I am happy to report that this past week after having taken a summer break the church kicked off with 5 new cell groups starting up! Praise the Lord for this victory! This past year there were only 2 groups. So as the church has been growing new groups are starting up. Tomorrow there is going to be a ministry fair after church so people can sign up to help out in various ministries in the church. Some of the ministries are already in existence while some will be totally new. All of these things speak of growth and we rejoice for what the Lord is doing in this place.
An area in which we still need much prayer is regarding our renewal of our Visas. It is a very long story but as of yet we have not had our visas renewed and they have given each member of our family totally different dates for renewing our visas, some of us not until 6 months from now! Because of this we have been praying and fasting and plan to make a trip to Madrid and go to Immigration to petition for a timely renewal for all of us. We definitely need God's favor in this! Please keep us in your prayers. We already have our tickets to fly to Mexico November 27th but possibly will have to delay our trip because of our visa situation. Another need we have is for a vehicle to travel with once we get to the USA. So please keep this need in your prayers as well.
For those of you who have been praying for our friend Christian who was kidnapped in Mexico 10 days ago as of yet there has been no word from the captors since 8 days ago. Tomorrow is Christian's 15th Birthday so please continue to pray for him and for his family. His Grandparents who live in Costa Rica have just flown to Iguala to be with the family at this difficult time.
Thank you so much for your prayers! We love and appreciate you and truly could not be here and do what we do without your prayers and support. We pray for you also and want you to know that you are a blessing to our lives! Hugs to you all from our family!

Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings from sunny Spain. We are very happy to report some answers to prayers, and want to thank you all who have been praying for us. This past week Vicente went to Madrid once again to try and submit Kasia & Isaiah's papers for renewal of the residency Visas, and Praise the Lord they accepted their papers this time! Now we have to wait for the appointment letter to go to Madrid and get their fingerprinting done for the new cards. Today we received a letter for my renewal Praise the Lord! So on Thursday night Vicente & I will ride the bus up to Madrid (7 hours) so we can stand in line early Friday morning to get our Visas. The lines outside of the Imigration office are blocks long with hundreds of people in line so as soon as we get to the office we have to get in line although they do not open until 9:30 a.m. We often have to stand in line for several hours before it's our turn to get into the building. So we covet your prayers for us as we stand in line and then ride the bus back to home in the afternoon.
This past week we celebrated the church's 6th anniversary and it was a wonderful time of Praise & Worship and fellowshiping together. We are very happy to report that the new people that have begun to come to church in the last few months are now taking the church membership classes! Lucas, the young man that was mixed up in Spiritism and Ocultism and just got saved about a month ago has been faithfully coming to church and has now started the membership classes. This Sunday as part of the Worship team we were up on the platform and as we were just singing and worshiping the Lord Lucas had tears streaming down his face and he was so touched by the Lord that it just made my heart so glad to see how God is changing him. We can already see such a change on his countenance that it brings great joy to our hearts. That is what the Gospel is all about Lives being Changed and Transformed! Halleluya!
We want to thank You for your continued prayers for us and for the work of the Lord here in Spain. We are seeing the answers to all the prayers! We serve such an awesome God, who answers us when we call, who does great and mighty wonders and miracles!
I want to share with you the testimony of a young man from one of the drug rehab centers in Germany. ( part of our church group we belong to here in Europe) This guy gave his testimony at camp. He had been a former drug traffiker and also a user himself. Part of his family was killed in the whole drug scenario, and his wife left him. He entered the Drug Rehab program, and after being in the program 3 months as part of the program some of the men were sent to help clear out a house where an old lady had died, and to move out the furniture and get the house ready to sell. While moving a very old clothes dryer he found 120,000 Euros in crisp bills wraped in bags hidden in the dryer which is $180,000 USD. Because he had accepted Christ during this time in his heart he knew the only thing he could do was turn the money in. So he turned in the money to the directors of the rehab center and they called the Lawyer that was handling the ladys estate. To make a very long story short News of this got out and was in the newspapers, then on varios radio stations, and then several TV programs went and interviewed him and the ministry center as most people could not imagine why and ex-drug traffiker would turn in such a large amount of money. Because of this he was able to give his testimony and all over Germany people were able to hear the Gospel message! Praise the Lord!
In closing I want to share with you some pictures of our city as viewed from the mountain top. This past week Wendy had the oportunity to go to the top of the mountain on a cable car with 2 friends from church and took these pictures. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We are able to be here and see lives transformed because of your partnering with us to bring the Gospel to this place. Thank you for being part of the team! Blessings to you all!

As some of you may be aware we live in a highly populated Muslim area just across from Morroco and right now they are celebrating the 30 days of Ramadan. There is a prayer guide for the 30 days and last week focused on the Muslims of Spain so I am enclosing the section on Spain, which mentions specifically the Iberian peninsula where we live now known as Andalucia.
Islam in 21st century Europe
Much of Spain was under Islamic rule for almost seven hundred years. Al-Andalus, was the Arabic name given to those parts of the Iberian Peninsula governed by Muslims, or Moors, up until the fall of the last Islamic stronghold, the city of Granada, in 1492. Muslim Spain or "Al-Andalus" is still seen by some as a good example of how Christians, Jews and Muslims should live together. However, most scholars have demonstrated that this ideal of Al-Andalus is not realistic.
Today's Spain has around 800,000 Muslims, most of whom are fairly recent Moroccan immigrants. One of the largest mosques in Europe, which was built with financial help from Saudi Arabia, is located in Madrid. Although the Muslim North Africans have now become a significant minority in Spain, few Spanish Christians are actively seeking to proclaim Christ to them. This is also surprisingly true in the two Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla which are actually on the northern Moroccan coast. In those cities almost half the population is Muslim.
Happily there have been large efforts, especially in the port cities of Algeciras and Malaga, to distribute literature, cassettes and DVDs to Muslims travelling to and from Morocco. Unfortunately there are almost no Arab or Berber followers of Jesus who meet regularly for worship and mutual encouragement; some groups have made some attempts to do so but often in unfavourable circumstances. A few North Africans from a Muslim background are now studying in Spanish Bible schools. Their situation is not easy since they are often rejected by family and friends.
Prayer Starters
* Committed Spanish believers are relatively few in number, however, there are increasing opportunities for them to reach out to Muslims living in Spain. Pray for greater wisdom, zeal and mobilisation of Spanish Christians for ministry among Muslims.
* Pray for the distribution of Gospel literature and DVDs in areas where there are Muslims.
* Pray for North African young people who come to study in Spanish Bible schools.
* Pray for the radio and TV programmes being produced in Spain for North Africa.

I am writing this letter to say that God is good all the time and I love Him more and more each day!
It is such a great privilege and honor to be able to serve the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! I have the Best Boss in the world! I am so happy to be here in Spain for such a time as this. When we first came to live in Spain I must say it was not easy and I did not like it here very much, but now God has given me such a great love for the people of this country and the place where we live, and I am very happy to be here!
This past weekend we were at the Camp up in Ciudad Real, it is a camp that is held annually by the church group we work with. The organization we work under here in Spain has as it's main ministry drug rehab centers all over the world. In fact most start the ministry with a drug rehab center and over time as it grows they also start a church. This week of camp was the best I have been to so far! It was just so awesome to be worshiping the Lord amidst hundreds of people, the majority of them former drug addicts, prostitutes, drug traffickers, alcoholics, former gang members, etc. Some of them really bad people before they came to Christ, but now in Christ they have been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, they have been made whole, restored. So many got up and gave their testimonies of how they were literally dying on the streets when they were rescued by someone from the drug rehab centers, they were taken in and cared for and loved and through that love over time they were healed, restored, set free, coming into a totally new life in Christ! In fact our Main Speaker was an ex drug addict saved under David Wilkerson's ministry around the same time as Nicky Cruz. Many of the people have AIDS but they are now living their life fully for the Lord and giving their All to God. Many people went forward to receive Christ as their Savior when the altar call was given. Most of the Leaders and Pastors of the churches are people who were at one time on the streets. I had the great honor of translating the main service with a mic and headsets for people from all the other countries that were non- Spanish speaking. I translated the sermon to English. We had people from India, Korea, Germany, Russia, Japan, England, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Morocco, USA, Nigeria, lots of Latin countries and who knows were else these are the ones I know for certain were there. One of the Greatest moments in the meeting was when the Worship leader asked all who spoke a foreign tongue to come up and sing "How Great is our God" in their language. It was sung in 12 languages and it was like there was such a heavy presence of the Lord in the tent that it felt like electricity. As the song was sung in so many languages I felt like it was just a small glimpse and taste of Heaven!
WOW! AWESOME FOR SURE!
Well I want to wrap this up by saying once again, I would not trade my life being able to serve the Lord for all the riches in the world. There is no greater Joy than in serving the Lord. Wherever He sends me I will go, this world in not my home anyway, I am just passing through! ~
Merry

Dear Family and Friends,
Just a quick note to let you know that we are rejoicing in God's goodness to us! On Thursday we had the opportunity to buy a car from a Spanish Pastor friend who is moving to another area of Spain. It is a Hyundai Accent, it is 10 years old but has only been driven here in the city, they have been the sole owners and it only has 60,ooo miles on it. It is small but we are very happy to finally have a car after having lived here 2 years with no transportation! God is Good!
Now we have a major prayer request that our Residency Visas be renewed soon so we can get the car insured and also so Vicente can get a Spanish drivers license. We can not do either of these things until our residency cards are renewed. We applied for our renewal in March, but everything in Immigration here is very slow.
The whole month of August all government businesses are closed down so we are praying that when the offices re open in September we will be given an appointment right away for the Renewal of our residency. Vicente & I have a conference to attend in Switzerland in October and if we do not get our cards renewed right away we will not be able to travel.
Also we will be flying to Mexico on November 27th, we plan to do some traveling in both Mexico and Texas so we need to be done with all our residency papers before we leave, so we will not have any trouble re-entering the country when we fly back. Please pray they will renew our cards for 2 years this time.
Thank you so much for your prayers we really appreciate them!
Love and Blessings to you all,
The Cazarins

BIOGRAPHY
Vicente Cazarin was born into a Catholic family July 30, 1966. He grew up not knowing the Lord and at the age of 16 attended a crusade and received Christ in his heart as Savior and Lord. That was the total turning point in his life. He finished his career as a Technical Instrumentalist with Pemex, Mexico's oil company at the age of 17, and immediately answered the call of God on his life to serve Him in full time ministry. For the next 2 years, Vicente studied at a practical hands-on Bible School in Chimameca, Veracruz Mexico. At the age of 19, he was sent to pioneer his first church and within a years time had raised up a church with 70 members. After pasturing the church for a year he was sent to another struggling church for 3 months to give the pastor a much-needed break. It was during that time that he traveled to the state of Oaxaca to attend a Pastor's Seminar and it was there that he met his future wife Merry E. Johnson.
Merry was born on November 23, 1971 to missionary parents and was raised her whole life on the mission field. Merry from a very young age knew that she was called to ministry and had her heart to marry a pastor. So on October 8,1988 Vicente and Merry were united in Marriage in the city of Oaxaca, Oaxaca State Mexico. From that time they began to co-labor with another pastor of small church in a village of approximately 60 members. That church is the same church where they now serve today as associate pastors and the church has grown to over 400!
The Cazarin Family just returned from a trip to France. The call of God is for the nations to hear the gospel and wherever He leads they will go. The Cazarin Family continues to pray for France and are learning the language in hopes to one day reach the country with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the first 4 years after their marriage, Vicente and Merry served together with several other ministers in founding a music ministry group that traveled throughout Mexico teaching Praise and Worship and holding seminars and open-air crusades. After that time in 1992 they felt the call of the Lord to go to another city and share the gospel and there they were the pioneers of a new church and where they remained for 5 years.
In 1997 the Cazarin Family, now blessed with 3 children, moved to Dallas, Texas. Wendy Araina was born July 19,1990; Kasia Alexandra born November 26,1991; Vicente Isaias born April 27,1995. From the time the Children were small Vicente and Merry instilled in them that "We are called as a Family". So the children have formed a very important part in ministering alongside their parents. The Cazarin Family had never before lived in the United States so there was a period of a year in which they were adjusting to a new culture and learning the language. During that time the Lord led them to a small Hispanic church where they co-labored with the Pastors of that church for the next 3 years.
During their time in Dallas, the Cazarin's were also able to attend the Advanced School of Pastoral Ministry at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, graduating in December of 2000. This was a time of equipping and better preparing to continue to serve the Lord wherever he would lead.
To GOD be the glory for all the things He has done! It is the Cazarin's hearts desire to be all God wants them to be. To be God's Voice and God's hands reaching out to those in need.
