You must understand that what was done to you was wrong, it was evil, it hurt and two wrongs do not make a right. The sin of offense is not justified by how bad you were treated. When you realize that you have sinned against God by holding on to an offense, you open up a door to get free. The question is will you take the bait? It is impossible for offenses not to come. You will have the opportunity to be offended. What you do with the offense will determine your future. Repentance is a change of mind, a change of heart. Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. 16Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]. If we don't get help from God - we are not receiving. He is available. The problem is that we may not know how to receive. If you have your eyes on what's wrong with you and not what's right with Jesus, the focus is on you versus what He has done on the cross when He said the score is final; It is finished.
